About Chhavi Methi

I am a seeker , a committed one :)

Transformation ….

She was surrounded by criticisms … By people who only shrugged her …

By people who never respected her .. By people who never saw her worth …

By people who never loved her…

By people who made her miserable …

Yes she started believing she was Mad .. Ugly … Worthless !

She saw the light of wisdom...

She learnt that there is hope …

She loved herself …

She hugged herself …

She patted her back ..

Love flowed

Friends noticed her worth …

They noticed her beauty within …

They noticed her SELF..

She filled with all in gratitude

She became all forgiving ...

She turned all compassionate ..

She understood all the love

She transformed into a beauty ..!

And then the world was hers

As much as she was of the world !!

Finding the real you :)

“To be beautiful is to be yourself”

“If you need be accepted by others, you have to accept yourself”

Does looks matter? This is a question that we all face at some point in time. When our priorities change in life, often looks take a back seat and by the time we again consider it important, it is beyond repair!

For your information ,. I am 36 years with two children … With every baby, I gained about 4kgs forever … I never bothered really until it crossed beyond what was acceptable to myself

Not that I m fat … a little overweight! But that indeed did affect my self esteem!

Life is a garden of flowers with thorns & fragrance

It was the time I have achieved some control over my mind through Art of Living. Yet my looks continued to dominate my body. Whoever says size does not matter? When the size has to do your own body, it does matter!!

At some point in time I started trying to get back my previous body! I tried a lot of things to get it back.. But phew, nothing worked!

One day Art Of Living announced Yogathon…. with a challenge to do 108 Surya Namaskaar… Well, I can be obstinate when I am convinced of something. I readily took up the challenge!

I started with 75 Surya Namaskaars and gradually increased the numbers. Now I am doing complete 108 rounds! As a result … My belly fat has disappeared!! I feel light …. I feel as if I am flying …

I don’t have to write here about my weight … But the change that made in me…what I am today, I was not yesterday!

The Beautiful Me – Inner and Outer Beauty Personified

Yeah… You just read it, SIZE DOESMATTER!! When it comes to your looks and your

self-esteem! (Size Matters – humorous spoof was published earlier on this blog)

Along with Surya namaskaar, I been doing very regular with Sudarshan Kriya too… Together, they were causing some changes in me!

I remember in my early days of Art of Living, I was told by so many people that everything will be the same and yet, something will change! I always wondered, ‘Arey Bhai what will change?’

Well, I followed the Patanjali Yoga sutras … Kept doing the kriya and finally I have started looking beautiful …Naah I am not complimenting myself.. But its men & women of all ages keep saying so …

Well, and I believe so! I started loving myself! To love one’s own self is the first thing we must do…. Yes, of course without encouraging our ego!

It boosted my morale… I knew that now all what I do is not perfect … I do make mistakes … But for me. my health, my body, my spirit must remain positive and nothing should bother me….

I kept that smile…sometimes even faked when there was none .. I haven’t hurt myself or cried for so many years now! And yes I am still emotional and compassionate.

To cut it short, Surya Namaskaar takes care of body, Sudarshan Kriya takes care of soul …. When both combines it makes you a beautiful soul in a beautiful body … That’s what others see … and you feel wanted and valuable, FINALLY !

The Surya Namskar Lady a they call me after the event

I am a living example that there’s something inside you which changes with Art of Living…and when you are happy about yourself, it shows up the BEAUTIFUL YOU to the world 🙂

How I Learnt To Live

Since this is a site for Art of Living bloggers. .. I will write my first ever blog on why did I follow the THE PATH !

This blog is nothing but the story of my life!

Just like most of us, I was born and brought up in normal circumstances … I didn’t do anything spectacular during my childhood days … I was an average child and only was good in few things that I was passionate about! I strived to be perfect in things that I would do (if I ever did them).  I was far from what I am today!

Me and My Family after Art of Living

Me with My Family – Hubby and In-Laws

I got married into a rich family.. having got married at a relatively young age, I didn’t know a wee bit as to how to handle all the demands of household, the in laws and the husband! I never felt I am up to the challenge of this demanding marriage.  The pressure grew only larger and larger and started to weigh me down.  A time came when I was diagnosed with so called DEPRESSION by eminent psychologists!

But I always had that passion to live and therefore I refused to give up.  I tried to seek help from everywhere … At an early age of 25 years, I visited psychologists, did Reiki, attended Satsangs and even did an Art of Living course!

That was it …

The Art of Living course turned out to be a turning point.

It was only after this course I realised so many things … I HAD THAT URGE TO CHANGE … NOT OTHERS BUT MYSELF!

As I progressed, I did many other courses by Art of Living and when I did a DSN course, my life changed forever!  It gave me the platform that no one could ever give me before.  I realised that I have exceptional organisational skills …. I got Sewa projects like looking after some media work and organising medical camps in Nithari village (during the times of Pandher).

During Yogathon 2012 of The Art of Living

That’s Me organising Yogathon 2012

I could organise everything on just a short notice; be it sessions in schools or medical camps. My achievements included getting a Maulvi to attend the satsangs aimed at creating a One World Family!  These achievements gave me the much needed purpose of life and ignited the passion in me to live for others.  The spirit of doing something for the society became my passion!

I never looked back.  I changed, I grew, I learned to live my life!

Today I smile through almost all the situations and I am not concerned about my worth anymore!  Art of Living has convinced me of my abilities and the role that I can play for the betterment of this society, It may not be much… yet, I am ready to be that change which we all wants to see in our society.

I learned the ART OF LIVING….
